Dr. Jay M. Tenenbaum, better known as 'Marty', is an executive board member and chief scientist at Efficient Finance. He is a world-renowned Internet commerce pioneer and visionary. He was the founder and CEO of Enterprise Integration Technologies, the first company to conduct a commercial Internet transaction, secure Web transaction and Internet auction. Dr. Tenebaum founded CommerceNet (1994) to accelerate business use of the Internet. He co-founded Veo Systems (1997), the company that pioneered the use of XML for automating business-to-business transactions, which was acquired by Commerce One (1999). He then served as director and Chief Scientist of Webify Solutions that was later acquired by IBM. Earlier in his career, Dr. Tenenbaum was a prominent AI researcher, and led AI research groups at SRI International and Schlumberger Ltd. Dr. Tenenbaum is a Fellow and former board member of the American Association for Artificial Intelligence, and a former Consulting Professor of Computer Science at Stanford. Dr. Tenenbaum graduated from MIT with a degree in electrical engineering. He also holds a Ph.D. from Stanford where he conducted reasch in Artificial Intelligence.
